Prospective students can learn about admissions, degree programs, financial aid and scholarship opportunities at Graduate Information Sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, December 18 and 19 and January 2, 8, 9, 15 and 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. No appointments are necessary. Classes begin January 22, 2008.
Located on the Eastern Campus of Suffolk County Community College, just 10 minutes from Sunrise Highway or exit 70 off the Long Island Expressway, Long Island University at Riverhead offers ample parking and access to the SCCC library, bookstore and cafeteria.
The University offers accredited courses in childhood education, teaching students with disabilities, and literacy education that are ideal for working teachers seeking new specializations as well as for recent graduates or those looking for a career change. The professionals at Long Island University at Riverhead are experts in helping students through the New York State teacher certification process.
The Master of Science and Advanced Certificate in Homeland Security Management are the first programs of their kind registered with the New York State Education Department and among the first in the country. These fully online programs are taught by some of the nation's top security and law enforcement officials and are designed for public safety and private security professionals, as well as public officials and people with undergraduate degrees who are interested in homeland security careers.
