University to Host Open House
December 11 at New Riverhead Location
If you are interested in pursuing an advanced degree in education
or perhaps a career in homeland security, then visit the Admissions
Open House at Long Island University at Riverhead, set for Monday,
December 11, 2006 and find out how you can achieve those goals.
Long Island University's new Riverhead location offers courses
in Childhood Education, Teaching Students with Disabilities, Literacy
Education and Certification in Childhood Education. It's also home
to the ground-breaking, fully online Master of Science and Advanced
Certificate programs in Homeland Security Management, the first
of their kind approved and registered with the New York State Education
Department. These programs are designed for working adults as well
as traditional students, with evening and weekend courses available
for students who need to balance work and family responsibilities
with education.
The open house will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Dr. Sanja Cale,
assistant professor of education at the Riverhead location whose
expertise is in children with disabilities, will lead a presentation
on Teaching Students with Disabilities and Applied Behavioral Analysis.
Dr. Lawrence McCann will also offer a presentation on New York State
Certification in Childhood Education. The presentations will begin
at 6 p.m.
The open house will be held in the Long Island University Building,
121 Speonk-Riverhead Road in Riverhead, on the Eastern Campus of
Suffolk County Community College.
