'Sportfishing on Long Island' Course Offered at Southampton Graduate Campus
Southampton, N.Y. – Capt. Jerry McGrath, an avid fisherman, experienced instructor and former charter boat owner and skipper, will teach a course in Sportfishing on Long Island on Monday evenings March. 6 through April 17, 2006, at the Southampton Graduate Campus of Long Island University. There is no class April 10.
The course is designed for both novice and experienced anglers and covers saltwater fishing techniques, skills and angling secrets. It features extensive educational materials and hands-on demonstrations.
Capt. McGrath retired from the life of a Montauk charter boat captain in 1990 and has since become a popular speaker on sportfishing at local libraries, schools, fishing organizations and civic centers.
The course will run from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Duke Lecture Hall at the Southampton Graduate Campus, 239 Montauk Highway, Southampton. Tuition is $200.
