Southampton, NY – East end retirees have an opportunity during February to learn about imaginative ways to use their leisure time.
Southampton College’s Center for Creative Retirement (CCR) is extending an invitation to retirees to attend a CCR class to see and experience first hand what the Center is all about.
CCR Program Director Cynthia Fecteau said this was a wonderful opportunity for any retiree to see if the program was for them. “In combination with the opportunity to form new friendships with their peers, on and off Campus, members find in the CCR a unique formula that will enrich this important stage of their lives,” said Fecteau. “We welcome retired individuals who are interested in the world of ideas and who value social interaction with those of similar interests.”
Classes meet on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm in room 214 of the Montauk Complex on the campus of Southampton College.
CCR Membership, by application, is open year round. Activities include: study groups in a broad spectrum of contemporary issues, literary and cultural areas; trips to museums, galleries, theaters in New York and elsewhere, and to sites of ecological and historical interest; intergenerational contact and exchange of ideas with Southampton College’s students; a newsletter on CCR activities, written and published by CCR members; and much more.
