Southampton College Women’s Soccer Team Create History
Team Ends Regular Season Unbeaten

Southampton, NY – This season’s invincible Lady Colonials made Southampton College history over the weekend and there could still be more to come.
With a 2-0 victory over C.W. Post, they capped the best regular season the College’s women’s soccer program has ever had, finishing number one in the region and number five in the nation – 16-0-2, 10-0-1.
Although Saturday’s game was the last regular season game a Southampton College women’s team will play, as a result of the Undergraduate Program, ironically, being transferred to sister College C.W. Post, the Lady Colonials will contest the NYCAC Tournament at Adelphi on Friday.
Last year, with a winning streak of six games and an overall record of 16-5-1 and 9-1-1, the Lady Colonials went into the NYAC tournament as one of the favorites but were beaten 1-0 by C.W. Post in the final. On current form they will go into this year’s tournament as hot favorites and will be keen to make up for last year’s upset.
Although they have remained completely focused on only their next upcoming game all season, they will be forgiven if their minds occasionally wonder beyond Friday’s NYAC tournament game. Some time early this week, the team will hear from the NCAA if they have played well enough throughout the season to be invited to participate in the NCAA tournament. If so, Southampton College will host at least one NCAA Regional game and make further history.
