Southampton, NY – Jennifer Browne, Southampton College’s Registrar and Director of Student Service Initiatives, has been promoted to the position of Assistant Provost.
The main thrust of her new role will be to oversee the management of the transition of the College’s undergraduate program to CW Post, Southampton’s sister College under the Long Island University umbrella.
Daniel Rodas, Southampton College Provost, said Ms Browne’s promotion was two fold: “in recognition of her outstanding work as Registrar and Director of Student Service Initiatives”, and “her understanding and knowledge of the College, its administration, management and curriculum”.
“She is also passionate about her work and cares for and understands the needs of our students, faculty and staff, especially during this period of transition,” said Rodas.
Browne said she was excited about her added responsibility and was looking forward to the challenge.
“My main aim is to make the transition as smooth as possible for our students,” she said.
Browne joined Southampton College in 1998 as Cooperative Education Coordinator. The following year she was appointed Associate Registrar and then promoted to the position of Registrar andDirector of Student Service Initiatives in 2000.
She graduated Juris Doctor, cum laude from Boston's Suffolk University Law School in 1997 and Bachelor of Science: Business and Communication, cum laude, from Babson College in 1994.
