Auditions are being held for The Southampton Players season finale, ?The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.?

A cast of 25 will be assembled to handle multiple roles. Auditions will take place April 14 and 15 at 6 p.m. in the College's Avram Theater. Performances will be held June 6-8, 13-15 and 20-22. Prepared monologues are not necessary; however, 16-32 measures of a country tune are. Ladies should wear heels; all should wear comfortable dance clothing. For further information and questions regarding this production, call Michael Disher at 287-8088.

"The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" is the collaborative effort of writers Larry L. King and Peter Masterson and Composer Carol Hall. Continuing a tradition of high energy, crowd pleasing musicals that attract standing-room-only crowds, the Southampton Players presentation of the rootin'-tooin' rip-roarin' true story of one of Texas' better known and most notorious pleasure palaces should be a great kick-off to the summer season.

The Players are currently staging "The Comedy of Errors" in the Avram Theater at Southampton College Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m., March 27-30 and April 3-6. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Group rates are available. Reservations may be made through the Players box office by calling 631-287-8899.
