Looking for some down to earth fun? Make plans to attend EARTHFEST on Saturday, April 12 at Southampton College's Wood Hall. The free event is sponsored by P.E.A.C.E. (Protecting Every Aspect Concerning the Environment), a student organization at the College devoted to preserving the environment.
A nature walk will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Wood Hall patio and an animal program entitled "Wild Long Island" will take place at 1:00 p.m. Representatives from various earth-friendly groups will have tables set up and literature about their organizations will be available. Participants include the Group for the South Fork, the Quogue Wildlife Refuge, Pine Barrens Society, Greenpeace, the Peconic Baykeeper, and Long Island AIDS Care. Organic refreshments will be available as well as a children's events table.
