Biographer Stefan Kanfer will read as part of the Southampton College Writers Speak lecture series Monday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Duke Lecture Hall.
Kanfer's 12 books include the best-selling biography, "Groucho" (Knopf), and the soon-to-be published "Ball of Fire", a biography of comedienne Lucille Ball. He has written several novels and many social histories, including "A Journal of the Plague Years", about the show business blacklist during the McCarthy era. A literary lion of the New York Public Library, he was a writer and editor at Time magazine for more than 20 years. He has also contributed to the publication City Journal. He currently resides in New York City.
The next installment of the series will feature author Betsy Carter on Monday, May 5. All talks and readings of the Southampton College Master of Fine Arts program are free and open to the public.
