College Holds Evening Lecture on African-American Writers

Sag Harbor resident Carol T. Spencer will share her experiences with Black Literature in her talk "African-American Writers: A Brief Historical

Overview" on Thursday, April 3 at 6:00 p.m. at Southampton College's Duke Lecture Hall.

A former reference librarian, Spencer runs a niche market black book company called Diaspora Books. She assists on black history programs for the Eastville Community Historical Society and spends her time organizing Black History exhibits for various schools and organizations.

The talk, sponsored by Southampton College's Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), is part of a series of literary events that honor and recognize the voices of African-American writers.
