The Education Division of Southampton College is sponsoring a summer workshop on educating students in inclusive environments. The workshop, which is geared toward parents and is also a two-credit continuing education course, will be held during the week of August 11.
"The workshop is a unique educational opportunity to learn strategies to meet the needs of young children with diverse requirements," said Dr. Kathleen Feeley, Assistant Professor of Education at Southampton College and coordinator of the Institute. "Participants will become proficient in state-of-the-art interventions that lead to successful educational experiences for students being served within the general education setting."
An integral part of the course will include presentations by educators, researchers, school district administrators, as well as students with disabilities and their parents.
The two credit continuing education course will take place Monday through Friday, August 11 - 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $175. Please call The Office of Continuing Studies at (631) 287-8316 or Rachel Sterling in the Education Division at (631) 287-8156.
