Southampton College student Melinda Fowler will present a talk on New Zealand fur seals on Wednesday, April 23 at 1:15 p.m. in the College's Duke Lecture Hall. The talk is part of BrainWASH, a lecture series presented by the Natural Science Division faculty of Southampton College.

Fowler took an internship during the Fall 2002 semester where she assisted with a research project studying the impact of tourism on New Zealand fur seals. Her work, based in Kaikoura, on the eastern coast of the south island, also included a project focusing on male New Zealand fur seal behavioral strategies during the breeding season.
